End of an adventure?

Whakatane

This year, I have been incredibly lucky to have been involved with so many adventures – arctic training in Svalbard, exploration in Russia, mountaineering in Norway, cycling through Scandinavia and, most recently, supporting a rather unique triathlon – but now, in mid-September, I have no more big adventures planned this year.

Or do I?

I won’t be scaling any big mountains, breaking world records or testing the limits of my endurance but I do have a new challenge ahead.

Earlier this year I made the decision to give up working full time and filled the gaps by going on expedition (of the last 24 weeks, I have been on expedition for 14). But as a roller coaster year of jet setting grinds to an abrupt halt, I have no more expeditions on the immediate horizon and am instead faced with the challenge of writing about them, sharing my experiences and finding out if anyone is interested in hearing what I have to say.

This is my next adventure.

Entering the unknown, trying something new and starting a journey. As with all good expeditions, it’s a little bit scary and I’m not sure what to expect, but I’ve got to plunge in, swim with the current and see where I end up.

As one adventure ends, another begins and I hope that you will join me on this one too.

Good luck with the writing, I’m sure it’ll be as successful as you want it to be! You have a nice, relaxed and honest writing style which I think fits the ‘expedition’ subject very well.
