We traveled independently but were assisted in getting into the mountains by a small company. We actually managed the trip on quite a tight budget too. Beeing a native Russian, even I wouldn't go there by myself. I also wouldn't just book a trip with the first adventure comapany there. If you know somebody there or somebody who has taken a trip with a company and can recommend it, then go ! Also, go there if you have tons of money. You'll love it !
