I am afraid your application for The Next Challenge Expedition Grant has not been successful. As you know, we had over a thousand applicants and only a small amount of money.
As someone who has been rejected for many grant applications myself, I know how disappointing it can feel…
But it shouldn’t.
In dreaming something big and committing that idea to paper, you have already taken one of the hardest steps.
DON’T STOP NOW.
Although I may not be able to give you any money, I would still like to help if I can. In fact, over the coming weeks I will do everything I can to help you get your idea off the ground (if you want the help).
I’ll start by sending you some emails* with the very best bits of advice from amongst our team. And if there’s anything I can help with now then just hit ‘reply’ and ask me. I would be delighted to hear from you.
Finally, thank you kindly for taking the time to complete our application form and share your idea with us. I wish you the best of luck with pursuing your adventures.
Tim and the Team.
*P.S. I’ll only send a maximum of 5 or 10 emails but you can unsubscribe any time if you want.
There’s no agenda though and I won’t be trying to sell you anything. I started my website six years ago specifically to help more people go on adventures and that’s what I want to do now.
The above email was sent to over 1,000 people last week.
It wasn’t a great feeling having to let down so many people but hopefully I/we can still help some of them go on their expeditions.
The emails I’m going to send to them – about six or seven in total – I will also post here on the blog. That way you or anyone else who Googles ‘how to have an adventure’ can make use of them too.
The first article – Why Having An Adventure Might Be Easier Than You Think – will be up later this week.
