    Hi!

This a great post. We’ve built a web app that is designed to solve this problem exactly. Our company, PathWrangler, built a great product contains all the best features of Google Maps, Basecamp and Google Docs and more into one web app. You can plan itineraries, routes, logistics, gear (group and individual) and have a running log all of the discussions around the trip (instead of endless email threads) The best part about it is that after the trip commences, you can create amazing trip reports afterward. It ties into social media if that is your thing, too. It is a huge leap forward from all these disconnected apps.

People have used this from everything from climbing Mt Everest and other Himalayan peaks, both Poles, safaris, and weekend camping trips. There is a lot of new stuff coming, too!

I’d love to personally connect with you if you’d be up for it. That goes for anyone that is interested in the subject.

Great stuff and glad to find this blog!

Hi Darren, I just Googled “pathwrangler doug heinz” and it looks like he closed down the business/app a few years ago.
