Rickshaw Britain

I recently finished cycling a rickshaw 1000 miles across the UK to raise money for Special Olympics Great Britain. The journey took four weeks from the Highlands back to London. I am now compiling evidence for Guinness World Records. You can see the latest news, stories and pictures here…

What’s this all about?

Starting from Aviemore in Scotland on Monday 26th April, I pedalled down the country, attracting large amounts of attention on my rickshaw to promote Special Olympics Great Britain on my way back to London.

- Why?

  1. To raise money and awareness for Special Olympics Great Britain (Not sure who they are? Thought they were the same as the Paralympics? Read here for the answers)
  2. To celebrate the Olympics Movement and London 2012 (and the South Pole expedition I’m planning to tie in with it)
  3. To explore my own country and have a bit of an adventure
  4. If I cycle 1000 miles then I may also break a Guinness World Record

- How?

  1. I had a bike kindly donated by Bug Bugs Rickshaws
  2. I cycled through different towns, cities and villages in an effort to visit as many different Special Olympics regions as possible (there are 19 in total)
  3. I travelled solo carrying a tent, stove and all the other supplies I needed
  4. Occasionally, members of the public would have  a ride in exchange for a donation
