    Hello Tim
A wonderful article. It brought back so many memories for me.
I walked Wahiba in 2006 with a very good friend of mines wife …. and shared similar experiences to you.
We were however met at night by my friend and his kids, so had it slightly easier. We also walked East-West!!
But the beauty and tranquility and the very special early morning mist rising from the valleys between the dunes will stay with me forever.
If you are interested my story was published in “Oman Today”…. here is the link

Since that walk a small group have walked the exact same route every year. I have supported two groups and I walked it again myself a few years later. We thought we were the only ones….. nice to hear you have walked it too!
I am back in the UK now, and do a lot of cycling, see this is your passion? Would love to meet up if you wish to mail me back
    Take care
    Ian

    Hey Ian

Thanks for your message. It’s a shame we hadn’t read about your trip before we did ours (although that feeling of novelty is always nice too).

It sounds like you had a great time and kudos for going back more than once.

Yes, I live in London now. Do drop me a line any time on [email protected]

    All the best,
    Tim.
