10 Things I’m Looking Forward to in the UK

Tree in Wadi Damm, Oman

This morning I land in the UK. I’ve had a great time in Oman these last few months and there’s a lot about the country that I will miss but I am also excited about moving back to London. Here are ten reasons:

  1. The return of the bicycle as my primary means of transport
  2. British cynicism and humour
  3. The hustle and bustle of living in London
  4. Cold, fresh mountain-top air
  5. Walking (it’s not often done in Oman)
  6. Waving off Sarah Outen on her 2.5 year row/cycle/kayak
  7. Decent radio, new (non-pop) music and Radio 4
  8. Being closer to all the expedition launches, events, planning sessions etc
  9. Cold water and swimming the Thames
  10. Friends

  1. Oh how I miss Radio 4. It feels like a Great Divorce.
