The trauma of losing a close friend last week was quickly overcome with the arrival of his direct replacement. I am very pleased to announce that Laura and I have been sponsored with two new, shiny Ridgeback World Panorama touring bikes.
(Pictured above freshly assembled in the living room where, sadly, it had to stay as soggy snow and dirty London roads didn’t seem like a good start for such a sleek looking bike).
A big thank you to Madison and Ridgeback for providing our two new steeds ready for this summer’s cycle ride to Australia.
They are wonderful looking bikes, built for the long distance tour with 27 gears for those steep ups and sweeping downs, front and back racks to carry all our kit through the winter, three bottle cages to keep us hydrated in the summer and two sets of brakes for a variety of riding positions.
We’re heading off for a two-week training ride this weekend to try out these new machines and test a few bits of kit, and just check that we really do want to spend the next year in a saddle…
