Dear applicant,
I am afraid your application for The Next Challenge Grant has not been successful. We had over 1,300 applications and it just wasn’t possible to support them all.
As someone who has been rejected by many grant applications myself, I know how disappointing it can feel… But it shouldn’t.
In dreaming something big and committing that idea to paper, you have already taken one of the hardest steps. DON’T STOP NOW.
Although I may not be able to give you any money, I would still like to help get your idea off the ground. If there’s anything I can do to help then please just email me and I’ll do my best. I would be delighted to hear from you.
I’ll also send you a short series of emails with some advice that I hope might help you get started. There are only six and you can click ‘unsubscribe’ any time if you’d prefer not to get them.
Either way, thank you for taking the time to complete the application form and share your idea with me. It really is inspiring to read about so many fantastic ideas and I wish you the best of luck in pursuing your adventure.
All the best,
Tim and the team.
The above email was sent to over 1,000 people last week.
It wasn’t a great feeling having to let down so many people but hopefully I can still help some of them go on their expeditions.
The emails I’m going to send are from my series: How to Have an Adventure. The first topic is: Why Having An Adventure Might Be Easier Than You Think.
