Home, Sweet Home

Cycling Around the World for JDRF: Diabetes Research

Last Sunday Laura and I rolled back into Hampton Court where we had left from 16 months earlier. We were greeted by a wonderful crowd of friends and family waving us in.

It has been a long and wonderful journey with far too many sentiments to fit into a blog post, let alone a sentence. But we remain very thankful to all of our sponsors, to the many, many people who helped us along the way and to all of you for following us and encouraging us through the ups and downs.

We’ve updated our Big Cycle page with some lists of our favourite countries, worst drivers, number of punctures, total distance cycled etc and compiled all of our videos, photos and best blog posts, and tried to answer some of the most common questions we got asked.

  1. Hi congratulations on finishing your trip. I expect sleeping back in your own bed again feels quite strange after 16 months on the road. I consider myself quite adventurous. I have just read a few of your posts and now consider myself a couch potato.

    1. Thanks Barry. I guess we all have our adventurous moments as well as the couch potato ones too. I just only write about the former!

Well done, you must write a book even if all you do is explain how you’ve packed your bikes. Excellent achievement.

    1. Thanks Adrian. I’ll see if we can include some packing details for you!
