At 1pm tomorrow, Friday 1st April, Sarah Outen will begin her two and a half year journey around the world from Tower Bridge, London.
Departing by kayak from beneath the bridge, Sarah and Justine Curvengen will be paddling downstream along the Thames. Over the following three days they will make their way towards Dover before crossing the English Channel for Sarah to begin her cycle across Europe and Asia.
She is inviting people to come down and wave her off. If you can make it then your options for the best view are either on Tower Bridge itself, along Butler’s Wharf on the south bank or at St Katherine’s Docks on the north bank.
At one o’clock a horn will sound and Sarah’s expedition will begin. I hope those of you able to attend in person will mark the occasion appropriately.
I’ve been managing the logistics for Sarah’s trip over the last year and will be continuing to do so over the next two and a half. Hopefully I’ll see some of you down there tomorrow lunchtime and the rest of you can follow her on Twitter, her blog and an interactive map.
