I have been thinking about running some kind of marathon or in some kind of sporting event. I will have to seriously train hard though because I have never done one before. Any advice for beginners?

Hi Richard, have you read my article on How To Run An Ultra Marathon?

That might be a good place to start. Particularly points one and two.

You mention “seriously training hard”. If your aim is simply to complete and enjoy a run (rather than set a competitive time or win) then it needn’t be a gruelling process, just a decent amount of time on your feet.
