A great write-up, enjoyed reading it very much. Excited about some cycling adventures with our little girl also. Can’t imagine the logistical (and sleep!) challenges it will pose!

      Thanks Phil.

The way we viewed it, cycle touring with a baby does present logistical and sleep challenges, but then so does staying at home with them!

Best of luck with your plans.

A very inspiring post, really impressed with what you managed with your little one. I’ve just come across your site via Al Humphreys. The Aland post caught my eye, as a few years ago we embarked on a Scandinavian and Baltic road trip and ended up passing through Aland after spotting Lumparland on the map. We had a vague plan, consisting of a return ferry trip to Hoek van Holland, everything us and our three young kids needed to camp for an extended period of time and five weeks at our disposal. The initial plan was to wild camp as much as possible and get as far as Sweden and see how things were going. The resulting trip was incredible! We completed a full circle of the Baltic, found amazing camping and swimming everyday, made new lifelong friends and have lots of funny stories to boot, all done on an absolute shoestring. I’ve now got 4 know kids in tow and I’m trying to dream up a possible bikepacking trip for us all. I’m thinking Holland will probably be a good starting point but any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Thanks Katy. That sounds like an amazing trip! Best of luck planning a tour with all four kids in tow. That is some going!
