Apply for The Next Challenge Grant and you could win the loan of a Kibo Expedition Bike.
Bike builder Simon Stanforth is offering the use of one of his Stanforth Kibo Expedition Bikes to a lucky winner in this year’s Next Challenge Grant.
Here’s some details about the bike:
The Kibo is a 26″ wheeled steel expedition bike designed for long distance loaded touring.
All Kibo’s are designed, hand built and hand crafted in the UK. Designed with simplicity, strength and durability in mind, the Kibo meets the needs for expedition touring in the back of beyond.
All Kibo frames are made of the strongest gauge of the air hardened Reynolds 631 steel for the main triangle. As the Kibo is built to carry heavy loads across all types of terrain, it’s imperative that the workmanship is of the highest standard. It’s not just the quality of the tubing that’s important, it’s how they’re put together. A frame is only as strong as its weakest join which is why all Stanforth bikes are hand built in the UK by the country’s top frame builders.”
This generous offer from Simon is part of a wider change in the grant. As well as awarding cash, I am now offering to loan equipment.
Most of the kit comes from my own supply – stoves, camping mats, bivvy bags and bikepacking bags – but it is open for other people and companies to pledge equipment. That includes a top of the range touring bike, which you can borrow for the duration of your trip. See the full list of equipment available here.
The Next Challenge Grant is currently open for applications but only until 31st January 2018. Online applications only take a couple of minutes and you can specify any equipment you need. Click here for details.
