We normally go to the gym three times a week and I also swim. Obviously the swimming is out apart from wild swimming!
So instead our thrice weekly ‘gym’ session includes climbing up/down the 14 steps to our front door 25 times, walking round the ‘block’ which takes 10 minutes, then lifting some weights, floor exercises and 10 minutes of Jo Wicks for seniors. This takes about 50 minutes all together and we have done it in place of our gym sessions since lockdown. ( And saved money!) We also go on walks, hikes and cycle rides from home and are discovering new places close from home. So, all in all, this has been quite positive for us. I know it is probably easier for us as we are already retired so it hasn’t been such a drastic change to our lifestyle. But apart from exercise being good physically it is also good for one’s mental state of mind.
