I wouldn’t travel without my kindle. It’s been so handy, small and light. Been amazing for checking email, worked fine from UK to China with only two problem areas.. The Pamiir Highway and Turkmenistan, worked fine every other place I went to.

I have to admit though that I will be on my 3rd kindle so far on this trip having just sent another one back. They need to be cared for and I just can’t provide that on a bicycle trip. However, Amazon support has been amazing. Simply send the broken one back to someone at home they send it to Amazon and Amazon will send you a replacement to your friend, they can send it to you wherever you are. Top notch service.

Ohh yeah, during my time on the Pamir Highway the kindle does not like extreme cold. The kindle was too slow to use, I had to wait a few minutes to turn a page, back into the sleeping bag it went.
