The first time I was on the road for a longer time, I was missing my bed. After the first night back home in my bed, I was wondering, why I missed my bed, now I missed my tent.
On my first round the world trip, I also was missing conversation. Back home after 2 1/2 years almost all my friends didn’t have time, everybody was too busy here.
On my second trip around the world I was also missing swimming and running. These are also one of the only things I am still enjoying here, as well as culture, going to concerts and movies. But that’s it.
I miss much more my life on the road now since I am back than home when I’ve been on the road. I only can tell you, enjoy your last weeks, the freedom, adventure, meeting a lot of new friends. Almost everything what you are missing now is an illusion.

Thanks Dorothee. I have no doubt that, in a few weeks, we too will be missing all of this.

Thank you Dorothee. Your points really made me think and I’ve just written another post because of it. Hope you’re planning another trip for the future.

For me it is just friends and family and momentous events like weddings and new babies hatching – everything else is just everything else. Laura – black sports bra! No greying.

    Safe wheels home guys x

Thanks Sarah. Weddings and babies certainly do seem to keep popping up. (Laura says she has a black one for ‘best’).
